CAF update: SUPERBOY (Brazil) #24 COVER (1998) - Superman Blue by Roger Cruz !!

2 posts in this topic

Hi all,

A glimpse into the mind of a super nerdy collector:

A while ago, I'd bought the cover for WIZARD #68, which had featured

the (then) new Superman Blue costume (beautifully drawn by Stuart Immonen).

While googling some more info about it, I was reminded that the issue

had another, alternate cover, one that had featured X-MAN (a younger Cable)

and was drawn by MARVEL's mainstay Roger Cruz.

I've had fond memories of Roger Cruz's work on X-MEN: AGE OF APOCALYPSE and

on a few other X-MEN issues I'd picked up at the time.

A bit later, that X-MAN Wizard cover popped up on Heritage;

While I wasn't seriously considering bidding on that one (it was a great

image, but I'd never even read an issue with that character), it still got me

to entertain the thought -

wouldn't it be cool if Roger Cruz had the chance to draw Superman Blue instead ?

Well, turns out it could be VERY cool indeed:

When Roger posted the cover for SUPERBOY (Brazil) #24 for sale I was blown away:

he drew one of my favorite DC COMICS characters in that certain art style, which

was mostly recognized with MARVEL of the '90s.

This was a very fresh take on these characters and a perfect addition

to my collection.

I hope you'd agree and Thanks for checking this out :)

Gal
