Interior Ink Transfer

6 posts in this topic

Sorry if this has been covered before - I did search.

A good proportion of my X-Men #141 is blighted by ink transfer (scan included). I'm just wondering how common this is, and if it affects the grade. Any thoughts?

The grade will not be affected.

Thank you.

Sorry, I should have explained why the grade won't be affected.

The ink transfer happened during the printing process. For the most part, CGC ignores minor defects that occur during the printing process.

Not entirely true. On moderns, if you're shooting for a 9.8 you could get dinged. The ink on this one is not too bad (I've seen worse) but it might be right on the borderline to kick you to a 9.6.
