Aren't all 9.8s a possible 9.9 candidate? It looks to me to be completely random if you get the mythical 9.9 or 10.0.

Well, no. Some 9.8s are possible 9.6s (Or even 9.4s or less...) on resubmission.

What I mean to say is that I own 4 9.9 books, and in my opinion the Wolverine presents nicer than any of them.

Moreover, in most of the 9.8 books I've collected over the years, I've been able to identify a flaw that would prevent it from 9.9 candidacy, however in the case of my Wolverine, such a flaw does not exist that is visible to me.

This copy, in my experience and best knowledge, therefore has a great shot at being awarded a 9.9 on resubmission.
