Make a list of 9.8's and ask again

Yeah I think too many moderns get slabbed when theyre not really worth anything. Some are of course but generally people are slabbing moderns thinking wow 9.4 9.6 but a 9.4 9.6 modern is pretty common.

Wolverine #1 (limited series?) and Longshot mini series if they are in high grade. Venom #1 black edition is probably your best comic, if it's the printing error variant. I would love to have one if those myself.

Longshots are 9.0-9.5 but I'm getting them Ccg signed and slabbed

The hulk 181 I've gotten mix signals cause some people say slab it while others say don't. That copy is perfect easily a 9.8 if not a 9.9.

Wolverine is not the limited but is a min 9.0

What's your goal? Do you plan on selling them once they get slabbed or keeping them? I'd check out the GPA of the books with the grade you think they will get and then subtract $30 if you are planning on submitting fast track.

If the price you get is more then you think you could get for the book raw then roll the dice and see what grades you get. I'd not use 9.9 grades in your calculation - assume the book will get 9.8 at best and be happy when you get the 9.9. Also remember graded books can sometimes be more difficult to get FMV over high grade raw copies especially here on the boards. Good luck!

Its all really based on your preferences and your goals and how much money you have. And no one can know those except you.

If you are concerned about potential values, you should look up finished ebay sales and GPA analysis to find out some value ranges.

If, as I suspect, that money is no object to you, then ignore the values and slab the ones that will look best in your treasure vault.

Zap Comix 0 2nd print (6.5-8.0)

Zap Comix 1 third print (7.0-8.5)

I would not grade Zap reprints unless they had 9.8 potential. The market for these books is high grade & 1st print.

A year ago GPA was $90-100 for CGC 9.6-9.8 Zap 1 3rds

My intention mixed, certain items with high collectibility and raw value I'd like slabbed for potential sell value with in next 1-3 years. Other items are for personal collection and preservation. (Long hot 1-6, excaliburs)

Here's my throught process as to if its worth being graded or not. Please let me know if my train of thought is skewed or off.

Comic: TMNT 1JE Error edition

Current condition: 9.4-9.6 under 5 visable defects.

CPG Raw value 9.2-9.6: $47-60

CPG Graded value: $47-$180

http://comicspriceguide.com/titles/teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles/1O/ynvybs

Original purchase price:$10

Grading cost: $18

Shipping: $10

Total Cost: $38

Based on graded sell price of $47-$180, potential profit ranges from $10-$125 with a realistic profit of $35.00-$45.00

In this case it's not worth it because my min potential sell profit threshold is $50.00 with potential profit value of $250.00.

Graded "values" on CPG have nothing to do with reality. I think their regular price guide is at least as good as Overstreet (not that that is saying much :P ), but I don't know why they even bothered with the "Graded" part.

don't do ANY slabbing based on graded value without looking at GPA AND finished EBAY transactions.

if its just for the love of the game, great, knock yourself out. If you're looking to move weight, do more homework first.
