Am looking for opinions on this 181 ... thoughts on grade? gloss? etc.?

It's really hard to tell with those pictures you provided. You should take pictures of the comic out of the bag that way it will be a lot easier to see the comic or post scans of it. If you post better pictures more people would be willing to help with the grade. From what I can make out it looks like it's a really nice copy.

You have to take it out of the bag for a real assessment. It looks 8.0/8.5 already though.

I am going to say 7.0-7.5 due to creases on spine

Lucky you - nice copy! Where'd you find it? Like others said, take it out of that crappy old bag, scan both covers, put it in a Mylar with a buffered bacboard, and ship it off to CGC for slabbing. Do not pass GO, do not collect $200 - Get a move on little doggie.

 

From what I see, you'll be surprised by the grade. (thumbs u

 

I'm betting 8.5 at a minimum.

On a really nice comic like this the grade is whatever it shows in the upper left corner when it comes back from CGC !!!!!!
