Thanks for the kind comments on the videos. I have three more left to post. It's always fun to talk about something one loves!

Cheers!

Dave

HI Dave,

I enjoyed the video featuring the "Kubla's Anguish" piece. Not sure if you remember, but me and Hari Naidu visited your home in early 2008 and that was the piece that stuck most in my memory afterwards - just spectacular!

Good luck with the sale!

Hi Gene!

But of course I remember your visit. And we all took a side trip to visit Horvitz. It was a pleasure showing the collection to collectors with great eyes and good taste. Actually, that is quite a rarity in this hobby. A lot of people collect with their ears and with a view to simply impress their friends.

I see a lot of that. What the hell, it's only human nature, eh?

Say "hello" to Hari for me.

All the very best,

Dave

Gene,

You are all in NYC, so please try to see the exhibit if you can. All the erotic works will be there and a good assortment of the other major pieces. I can request that the Kubla Khan will be there, if you so desire. It will be the very last time to see these originals in person before they burrow themselves into collectors' closets.

Cheers!

Dave

Thanks Scott! Of course, there are bound to be bargains. Every auction is a shoot!

The catalog should be a great tribute to Frank and the tremendous heights he could attain. The text provides some narrative content to the history and significance of the art. The result should be a rather unique volume. It is the result of a lot of passion and work by a bunch of very dedicated and inspired staff at PROFILES IN HISTORY.

I am looking forward to this catalog and I pray the printer quality is on a par with the art presented. Our goal from the beginning was to produce the finest auction catalog ever.

The videos I am doing to accompany some of the pieces just add a little informative texture to the whole enterprise. Rob Pistella referred to it as a "living history" of the art.

It has been exhausting, but fun.

Warmest regards,

Dave

All that aspect of the auction is strictly handled by Joe Maddalena of Profiles in History. In many instances the estimates are far below what I paid. The market will ultimately establish the value with no background games being played.

Call Joe to see what terms you can get. I have no idea what his policies are.

Thanks for the inquiry.

Dave

You need different lawyers! The benefit of not showing the erotic images in the online catalogue is more people will come to the viewings. Will all the art be there? This is a fantastic once in a lifetime auction and I can't wait to come to NYC and check them out. Hopefully, place a few bids too. This stuff is better than viagra. Are the catalog's available for purchase?

Catalogs are $95.

wow, I think that is a bit high, HA.com catalogs which are the best in the business are only $50

Hardcover. 11x15 in size. It's the artists edition of auction hardcovers.

Really can't compare it to a softcover small format catalog. This probably costs double to produce.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the kind comments and for offering to arrange for the Kubla Khan piece to be on display in NYC. Would love to see it again in person, as well as all the other art, of course!

Regards,

Gene

Ok, ok...just returned from a very snowy visit to the grand canyon.

I was told there would be no reserves for this auction. I see on the actual auction site that there is a minimum bid number. Well, that, in effect, can be seen as a reserve. I will say that ALL those numbers are well below what I paid. Most people assumed that there would be sky-high reserves for this auction. Not so. Everything is extraordinarily reasonable in my opinion. Have you looked at the QUALITY of the art? I am biased, of course, but truth is truth.

As for the price of the auction catalog, it is a function of the edition, the large size, the hardcover, the archival paper, and the fact it is being produced domestically to gain a firmer grasp on the overall quality control. This catalog, unlike 99% of all auction catalogs, is not designed to be a throwaway product. It is designed to be a tribute to Frazetta and a book envisioned from the beginning to be a collector's item that will increase in value over time, just like the ALEXANDER GALLERY catalogs have done. If it is judged too expensive by some, then the pdf is there as a free download. That pdf is of outstanding quality in itself.

As for the art in NYC, drop Rob Pistella a note. He is coordinating the whole event. I really have no input into the overall business design of this project. There are many, many dedicated professionals who are puttting maximum efforts into the whole project. It is an exciting adventure

Tomorrow I will post the erotic images of Frank that are not in the catalog! They will be on my blog site for three days. Why the short interval? The last tme I attempted to post something "True" about Frazetta, my site was dismantled by outside interference. As I said earlier, the internet is a toilet. Very annoying.

After that I have several more videos to post including a discussion of the Canaveral Press covers and a consideration of the true essence of Frazetta.

I hope that answers a few of your concerns!

All the very best,

Dave
