I have always thought that Schomburg drew the splash pages for the Easy and Oop comics. He did several of the covers and signed as Xela, of course.

I'm a big Guardineer fan, think he pretty much nailed it here - this is from Adventures into the Unknown #1, the story is by Frank Belknap Long:

It took me a while to come around to Guardineer, he's got a style halfway between cartoony and realistic. Once I finally got him, I've become a big fan. National Comics 26 has a wonderful splash I'll try and get a pic of.

I saw this one in the Creeping Death from Neptune biography about Basil.
