Q4 2004: An increase from $19.0 million in Q4 2003 to $22.1 million in Q4 2004.

Year 2004: An increase from $73.3 million in 2003 to $85.9 million in 2004.

 

Operating Income

 

Q4 2004: An increase from $7.2 million in Q4 2003 to $11.6 million in Q4 2004.

Year 2004: An increase from $24.4 million in 2003 to $37.3 million in 2004.

So they made 12.6 million dollars more in 2004 than they did in 2003, but spent 12.9 million dollars operating income to get it? Isn't that an overall loss?

 

You are not comprehending those numbers correctly. Operating income is the profit realized from operations. Sales AND profits were up.

It also looks like they kept costs fairly constant.

well, they had a bunch of "big things" in the last 3 months of of 2004, fewer I presume at the end of 2003?

 

$12.6 million more in sales... hey, that's a lot of comics! if they take in a buck a book ..

 

or might a lot of that be coming from TPBs, GNs and big expensive hardcover reprint books?
