Ebay and Ohio residents

30 posts in this topic

Hello All,

I heard on the radio that there is state legislation that if you live in Ohio and want to use Ebay to sell(or buy?) you must pay a $200.00 fee, post a $50,000 bond and spend a year as an apprentice?

I guess this is an off topic post, but selling comics on ebay is done all the time.

If there already has been another thread about this, please point me in the right direction.

So, if you live in Ohio and want to list comics for sale on ebay, you're going to have to pay some steep up front fees.

Any truth to all this?

Thanks,

The voters in OHIO have shown they have good taste by voting for Bush.

If those fool politicians ever vote in something like that they be gone the next election.

Not off topic~

Selling comics on eBay is one of the most important things members do here.

"It certainly will not apply to the casual seller on eBay, but might apply to anyone who sells a lot," he said. "If someone buys and sells on eBay on a regular basis as a type of business, then there is a need for regulation."

I hope a didn't say that. screwy.gif

One would think that in the unemployment capital of the world,

that the legislature of the Butteye state would encourage more

free enterprise, not add additional hurdles. Of course it also

explains why more businesses move out of Ohio than into Ohio.

You're an insufficiently_thoughtful_person. You should drive around the Columbus area sometime, and take note of all the new businesses that have sprung up in the last five years. Be sure to hit Easton, Polaris, Canal Winchester and the Grove City area. You wouldn't even recognize the areas if you hadn't seen them for 5 years.

P.S. The JPMC/Bank One at Polaris is expanding to accomodate 10,000 employees. Care to back up your idiotic "butteye" statement with facts?

Also, I just looked up state unemployment. Ohio is a whopping .1 percent worse than Texas.

Interesting list - Virginia is at 3.3%, with the District of Columbia at 9%. That's amazing - especially that I'd bet that unemployment in Northern Virginia is under 2%.

the want to make sure people aren't buying or selling porn or sex toys or condoms or sex education materials

on the other hand, assault rifles, metal piercing bullets, bazookas and surface-to- air missiles are protected by the constitution and can't be regulated

Gee Blob, I dunno. I'm not a (or a ... I don't like "2 party" politics) but I do live in Ohio..... and last time I checked I could get porn and sex toys in this "conservative" state if I choose to at the Hustler store up the road. However, if I were to own or attempt to purchase a full auto AR-15, bazooka, or SAM, I do believe the Feds would be knocking.....

Anyway, this is simply some of the most ignorant legislation I've seen....

..." I don't THINK it will effect people who sell occasionally on eBay..."

Shouldn't he KNOW before passing a law. Isn't that his job as a politician?! gossip.gif

Senators, especially at the state level, only know what lobbiest tell them.

full auto AR-15

No such thing (unless someone make an illegal mod.) The full auto version of the AR-15 is call the M16.
