Came upon this thread again and realized that I never did post a list. So here it is...

 

Golden Age: All-American 61, Captain America 74, Detective 31

 

Atomic Age: Crypt Of Terror 17, Startling Terror Tales 11

 

Silver Age: Amazing Fantasy 15, Fantastic Four 5, Hulk 1

 

Bronze Age: Pedigree copies of Batman 232, 251 and Detective 400, 402 (preferably Oakland)

 

Modern Age: Albedo 2, TMNT 1

 

 

Sadly I don't own any of them. And I'm not really working towards owning any of them either.

Maybe it's not distraction, but a matter of importance. With the money he's put into his L.B. Cole collection, he could have bought several of his GA/AA grails. But he obviously values them less than L.B. Cole.

 

Same with me. I'm more interested in collecting Joker covers and stories than using that money to buy my grails. They are still grails, but less important in the scheme of my collecting. Plus, I've found I enjoy completing a set more than owning one expensive grail.
