DC comics page heading on action comics

Ok I am a newbie have a few action comics I just got from the early 60s and noticed a nice letter heading on top Dc Comics logo each side and Action Comics in the middle on each page! I have a few questions did they only do this on action comics? And when was it introduced and when was it stopped?

I think DC stopped doing this in the mid/late 1960s, and yes, there would have been similar headers in other titles from the same era...
