Initial inspiration for Wolverine? Beast?

3 posts in this topic

I recently finished reading my X-Men run up to issue 143, and just tonight decided to re-read Amazing Adventures, issues 11 and 12. Plenty of recent exposure to early Wolverine, and Beast...

After coming off of X-Men, and seeing how the newly furry Beast is portrayed in Amazing Adventures, I can't help but wonder if the initial inspiration for Wolverine came from those very pages?

- They both fight like uncaged animals.

- They both remark on the bloodlust which drives them into an uncontrollable battle frenzy.

- They have the same funky hair-do.

- They both have a regenerative healing factor.

The characters seem very similar to me. These issues of Amazing Adventures came out a couple/few years before IH 181. Maybe that's a bit obtuse, however Wolverine was all I could think of while going through those Amazing Adventures issues.

Anyhow, back to reading...
