I can see why some would not want larger avatars as pages load slower for those still on 56k modems,

Not everyone wants to live like cattle in tight urban areas. I wouldn't trade my 10 secluded acres for the fastest internet connection in the world. I do have a high bandwidth at work, but I also spend plenty of time at home on my modem. No big deal, I block sig images both at home and at work anyway so I guess I really don't care.

While I think we still allow bigger avatars than the CGC board, we just recently had to put up restrictions too as users were getting a little crazy with them. We are now limiting everyone to 130x200. No one has complained about slow loads yet!
