I went Saturday morning as I mentioned with a couple buddies and we hit up the Casino afterwards. Showed up at opening time and stayed for around 4 hrs. Not many comic booths would be a correct analogy and the best books to be found were by far at Dave and Adams and RareHighGrade Bobs booth. The highlight of the show for me would probably be meeting Bob and getting to hold his Tec 31 which was the first for me. He was super nice and I will definitely be doing business with him in the future. Didn't buy anything this time around. There was a dealer out of PA that had a huge 2 dollar booth as well as a Ton of nice Silver and Bronze age stuff. This was a show that if you were in the market for a Werewolf by Night 32 or ASM 300 you would have found several of each. NOT a SINGLE Fox  hero book in the entire room that I saw and I asked. I also really didn't see any other esoteric stuff either like no MLJs although I did see an Archie 1 at DAs. The artists alley was cool and my buddies had a few commissions done as well as buying some original pieces of prints. I did buy a bunch of 2 dollar stuff which isn't like me and and few small print stuff including a book call the Specialists which is based on WWII. LOTS of Cosplayers and the Famous folks were set up a little different this year being in the middle which was cool if that was your thing. So to sum things up as expected no one really had anything up my particular alley of interest besides Bob and D&As but if you were into SA to modern stuff you would have had a blast. Hats off again to Blazing Bob and Dave and Adam I hope had a good show and I saw picking up a little SA collection (FYI Carbo was not present doing the buying if anyone is interested) Toys and merchandise/ gaming/ a virtual reality booth set up by State Farm all represented this Con. The aisles really started filling up by 2 PM with cosplayers and the like and thats when we ducked out and hit up the buffet haha!! We had a great time all in all but I would 100% rather go to show in small hotel conference room but this seems to be the way of the future con.

Gino, thanks for the first-hand account! I agree, Bob is a great guy and has great books.

I did end up going down this afternoon and thankfully (most of) the parade goers had seemingly dragged themselves home and it was fine being downtown. I took some terrible pictures of the 6-7 comic booths, as well as some crowd shots and I'll probably get a poorly written report up a little later tonight. Anyone will be welcome to contribute if they feel inclined!

On Saturday, the local news channels were billing this as a "pop culture event" and only showed footage of cosplayers. After watching 2 different networks coverage (5 & 8), I might have seen the back of Dave & Adams sign for a split second - that was the closest thing to a comic book I saw.

I was all ready to head down this morning and then checked the admission price on their website....

$55 ?!?!?

Did head out - to the local meat market and got the biggest sirloin and some Guinness Stout instead. Still a Jackson less that the admission price.

After reading that there was less than 10 comic booths, glad I went with plan B.

The local shows in Strongsville, Akron & Kent had 3 times (at least)  as many dealers last year and maybe cost $10 each admission. Only problem was the stock didn't change that much between shows.

Hope everyone had a great time & the dealers made a profit ! Looking forward to the local con season to get going !

Gino, I love that you put those "low grade rags" out there for viewing! It's all about the comics, not the grade, right?!?

You've inspired me to be proud of the "low grade", and I'll have something fun and Foxy to show off soon.

Some books you have to take what you get and Foxes and Centaurs are both tough publishers .So take um when they come your way for you may never get another chance :acclaim:

Yes!!! Low grade better than no grade for sure!! The resale part is true as well. I just prefer them to look well loved it's just a personal thing to me I can't really explain it. Something about the history of the object/comic itself and how many folks have enjoyed it before myself intrigued me. Like for example when i see a book with a sub crease it's likely someone folded that book in half. Why? To put in their back pocket? To swat a fly? Fun to speculate and wonder
