He should leave his books as is (raw). There is another company (which I am not allowed to mention) which will verify signatures (but not cheap either).

I actually paid a few extra $ on an auction for a Green label ASM 300 with a Todd McFarlane sig. Don't worry, the eBay description stated it was pre-CGC and it was authentic.

 

I've seen enough of the McFarlane sigs to feel fine about it.

 

Now all I need is a PLOD to complete my CGC rainbow.

I got stuff signed when I could get them signed. Didn't wait for CGC. Pretty happy without them about it. Don't think they were witnessing when I got most of mine.
