Ebay sellers, Have you ever had this happen?

Since there clearly was a glitch, which falls on the shoulders of eBay, the feedback was given to you in retaliation of what the buyer perceived was the seller removing the auction, when in reality it was due to eBay's issue on their site. So the feedback should be removed by eBay no questions asked. eBay can verify that you didn't end the auction and they can also verify that you did not cancel any bids. They also have the ability to contact the buyer explain that the issue was a result of an issue related to eBay, and not the buyer. This alone should be more than enough evidence for eBay to remove the feedback.

The downside of this is that eBay is so focused and concerned with "buyers" and really don't care about the sellers you may face an uphill battle, but it's a battle I feel should be prepared to fight. If what you said was true and accurate, then you did nothing wrong. eBay has become almost like a trial, where sellers are guilty until proven innocent. The fact that the buyer quickly left you negative feedback only on an assumption that you pulled the auction shows how flawed eBay has become. There is no level playing field anymore, yet when you bring up the fact that eBay's Feedback Forum is incredibly one-sided, they will respond with the same BS excuse about how in 2008 they noticed a number of BUYERS leaving eBay because of feedback or sellers removing their auctions so they felt a chance to feedback leaving was in order, so they stripped the ability away from the sellers. So basically the actions of a few affected all the sellers. Much like how some sellers would charge 99 cents for a $60 video game but then charge $40 for shipping, so this would mean fees would be collected on the 99 cents and not on the shipping. That prompted eBay to then charge a fee on the shipping costs. Again, the actions of a few made it so changes affected all sellers.

I say call up eBay and ask to speak to a customer service supervisor if you have not already.Explain the circumstances and ask them to prove to you if you A) Ended your auction and B) Removed any bids. They can check that and they will see that you didn't do either of them, and then cite the message the buyer sent to you, as they have access to your inbox and can read the message along with how it came to you right after the glitch. That alone should be more than enough "evidence" that eBay needs to remove the feedback.
