9.6

Were you one of the onsite graders at WLA?

9.6 which is also what I had as a grade.

I did good with yours.

3.5 out of 4 points. thumbsup2.gif

You had nice scans. That helps a lot with us old folks.

You're kidding, right? 9.6?

All that stuff is excess glue or staple bulge.

100% production defect.

I would call it a 9.2 myself, but it's CGCs rules so I went with 9.6 and hit it.

9.6 is the highest grade for significant production defects. poke2.gif

I haven't seen a 9.8 in person, but I can't imagine a book without the staples pushing through. Is that what you need to have in order to get a 9.8?

Thanks.

Dan

From what I've heard only the smallest production defects are allowed in 9.8.

I didn't know these three words could be in the same sentence: 9.6, significant, defects. confused-smiley-013.gif

Me either... confused-smiley-013.gif

I got a ASM 140 graded at 9.6 with significant ink transfer. The white cover was 25% light pink front and back.

Some people just buy the label so I was a happy seller. acclaim.gif

My copy of 137 looked exactly like yours. it had the same staple issue on the back cover and they gave it a 9.8. So based on my experience with that book a 9.8. In all reality though their consitency is not that great on a borderline book like yours. When I submitted mine I expected a 9.6, and was very pleased when it came back 9.8.
