So...Scott Mendelson wrote ~800 words about why "The Batman Never Had to Top $1 billion."

His basic points?

1) Even at a worst-case scenario, it's going to finish domestically above Spider-Man: No Way Home - without the benefit of the MCU fanboy apparatus and RDJ's Iron Man as a selling point.

2) It's going to end up close to $400M domestic (more than any DC flick but Wonder Woman) and close to $800M worldwide ("essentially tied with BvS with a pre-Covid Chinese gross).

Add in...there are tons of folks still hesitant to go to theaters due to Covid and it's coming to HBO Max in just a few weeks, so there are plenty willing to wait.

Are Skyfall and/or Spectre any good? I ditched the franchise after my brother and I watched Quantum of Solace and we both thought it was trash.

Which two? My favorites are Casino Royale and No Time to Die.

no time to die, which i love, isn't in his package.  of the 4 that are, i'm on c.r. and skyfall.

I figured those were the two candidates. They are the strongest ones of the quad. I picked up No Time To Die 4K recently for next to nothing ($5 which with a $5 coupon is nothing). But with MGM they are a one platform digital provider so it only works on iTunes. If you want VUDU you have to purchase from them for $19.99 in 4K.

But at least now when I do a marathon I can go through the entire character journey in UHD.

Skyfall is fantastic!

Spectre just took on too many themes and moved quickly to get to the big events without solid buildup. It isn't horrible. It just felt like a letdown as a follow-up to Skyfall.
