Devil Dinosaur #1 Color Variations?

Does anyone know the story behind these color variations between Devil Dinosaur #1?

Look at the space above the banner; in most of the copies I can find, it's the same blue as the rest of the cover. However, on a few, it's white.

 

Has anyone else noticed this or searched it?

Except for the vibrancy, everything else is the same? Looks familiar, I checked my HG copies (no whites) let me check my mid-grades.

You can see at the top where the Comic Code stamp is that one book has the blue and one has a white background.

Huh. Never saw one before with no blue in the top strip. Interesting

I've searched a bit on eBay, and it seems that CGC doesn't distinguish between the two; there's a 9.6 with the white, as well as many 9.6s with the full blue.
