Nice G.I. Combat Greggy! They are much harder to find in grade than most people think.... and a couple are downright impossible.

Sweet. Are they SD pickups?

Shep

No, a forum member offered them to me prior to SD.

Hey guys,

A question about the Oakland war books. I have a couple of them, but I suspect most will remain deep in collections for a long time. Was there a small handful of buyers who scooped the lot, or did they just get scattered?

If anyone was on the ground floor of that collection, I'd love to hear about it.

Just got back from the Toronto convention, and overall not a lot of war books... saw next to NO high grade Weird War or Our Army at War. However, did score a few nice upgrades. These were all under $7, and a couple of them were $2... so the deals were there at least...

Karma... nice Furys.... I grew up reading them too, and I am seriously considering putting a run of those together, particularly the Severin issues.

Hedge.... these few nice deals sort of made up for what I think was a pretty weak selection of DC war overall. I never saw a SINGLE high grade (ie... 9.0 or better) DC war book pre-1974. Which is pretty crazy.

Still, had some fun and finally got to meet Andy Greenham in person!

Thanks Shep

I highly recommend the Severin run on Fury, excellent artwork and fun stories made those issues some of my childhood favorites, and still are today. (thumbs u

If you consider SSWS 151 to be the first app of the Unknown Soldier then yeah, he's the most important.

However, if you consider OAAW 168 to be the first app, then you have to start looking elsewhere.
