Tip Top #80 1942

Nice pages and color. Piece off the top of the back cover. 1.5” tear on the back cover. Some bug or other damage on the top of the back, 1/2” tear bottom of back cover. Some dirt on the front cover, small cover splits top and bottom (very small) Crease lower right. Grade is VG- (3.5) OSG is $30 in VG. Bin is $22.

#68 and #69 are sold, thanks, Greg!

 

Next up in a few minutes is Comics on Parade, and that's where the 2nd Cosmic Aeroplane copy is. Since the pedigree started around 1940, I'd imagine this will be one of the oldest issues.

Comics on Parade was published by United Features. They started in 1938 and these are very early copies. The early issues are Li'l Abner covers, later they went to Nancy and Sluggo.

Just 6 books today.

Comics on Parade #6, 1938. 5 pages of Tarzan by Foster.

Nice color, pages are supple and ow to cr, but there are a few corners off on the bottom and two pages look like a small triangle was cut from the bottom margin.

Spine roll, some creasing, some dirt, creases at both corners on the front. Small piece off the lower end of the spine and of course the top corner crease (paper is there). Grade is Gd/VG. OSG is $55 in GD. $110 in VG. Bin is $70

Sold to Crassus, and scans fixed!

Color is fantatic, pages are in the White range, (should be White).

Slight spine roll, some stains on the front and back cover. Tiny bit of color missing at the bottom right corner., small nick at the bottom of the spine. Grade is VG/F. OSG is $165 in Fine. Bin is $120 Sold to Norrin's lawyer

Comics on Parade #10, 1939, 5 pages of Tarzan.

Book has nice color and nice ow supple pages, except for the centerfold which is detached and is dark on 2 sides with some chipping.

Crease lower right, tear at upper staple (both are attached.

Metropolis has a VG with a rat chew for $125, the bin on this is $80.

I've seen this cover recently as an ad for something, or in a blog or online story, and I don't remember where, but if someone is watching. I'll give them a $10 gift certificate credit towards a comic in this thread now or at the end, if they can find it and post it here.

Small corner crease lower right. Pages are OW/CR. Tiny nicks at the top and bottom of the spine, faint bend at the middle of the top edge, small stain under Abner's hand. Grade is F (6.0) MIGHT be a little bit better, but I'd rather be safe. OSG in Fine is $128, Bin is $98 Sold to Norrin's lawyer
