How was this Spider-Man comic distributed?

It's digest-sized but does NOT have the "Family Dollar" logo on the front cover like the ones I've seen out there. Was it part of a DVD/Bluray set or something?

No, this is thick and digest-sized. It reprints all the books on the back cover.

I've gotten to where I've been picking up random ASM books that usually weren't the focus of my collection. Finding random magazines or reprints that are tough to come across has been really fun for me.

 

The book you're showing is a cool example of finding something neat that isn't very common.
