For this price, I'd look for a Hulk #181 to buy.

the copy i got from bronzie CGC NM- 9.2 looks better than this CGC NM+ 9.6. not too mention at a 1/4 of the price too. 7 of the current 13 bidders on bid history are board memebrs as far as i can see...snipe! snipe!

You guys haven't been paying attention. The last phase of a graded collectible market (right before it melts down) is a mass migration of investment capital into the ultra-high-grade Key Issues.

 

In the coming months, you will see many record prices for CGC 9.6-9.8 Keys, so stand back and watch the show.

It is a nice book, and if you're interested in the inherent collectability of the issue, then any amount of money well spent. If you're looking to invest your retirement savings.. hah!

I'm actually a Ghost Rider whore, I have 6 issues of M.S. #5 4 unslabbed and 2 slabbed..it's an addiction.

One thing that kind of bugs me about long-term Ghost Rider interest is that other than MS 5 and GR 1, these rest of the comics are DOA. I could probably pick up NM copies of the entire MS 6-11 and GR 2-End series for about the same as the above two comics.

 

Not healthy IMHO.

Actually MS 6-11 go for good prices in 9.4, just saw 6 go for in the 200's.

I've also seen the exact same seller with NM raw copies of the entire run, and MS 5 goes for well over what the MS 6-11 comics sell for combined.

The same can be said for any first appearance..versus the latter appearances. ASM 14 is worth much much more then ASM 17.

I haven't seen many runs that exhibit that sort of huge price discrepancy on EBay. It's easy to understand, as Ghost Rider is a neat character, but the actual issues kinda sucked.

 

I own a couple of MS 5's, am looking for a GR 1, but I could care less about the other issues that I have, with the exception of GR 20 with the early Byrne art.
