Ghost Slabs

I imagine it is more with higher grade books, but what % of books on the census are ghost slabs, that have been either cracked out or pressed and resubbed?

This is a completely unscientific guess, based upon nothing but my own opinion. But I believe that between 1 out of every 6 and 1 out of every 7 books in the census is a ghost slab.

I don’t think they’re relegated to the upper grades, either. Plenty of people crack to read, not just re-sub.

I have no idea how they could do it, perhaps with the help of magic and a miracle, but it would be great to have the census audited.

 

Double counts, lost in house-fires etc... Be interesting.
