Dan Jurgens, creator of Doomsday and head creator behind the Death Of Superman saga,

drew many versions of the famed images of of the Man Of Steel battling Doomsday or Superman

being held by Lois moments before his passing away.

However, as far as I know, Jurgens only drew a handful (or less) published

illustrations of Superman's actual funeral.

 

A strong image made even more powerful by the pitch perfect inks of legendary

artist Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez.

 

This image also seemed to inspire the visuals for a key scene in BATMAN V SUPERMAN,

which played out exactly as shown in this image (except for the absence of Jimmy Olsen who

was "unavailable" at that point of the movie... ).

 

 

As far as the sale goes, I can't price this specific piece (the others are

priced), so I will take offers for the next few days.
