Commentary:

In an already difficult contest, thirdgreenham throws a couple of odd looking books into the mix. Not all are fooled, though, with a record 8 people getting double bullseyes.

Congrats to canickus, EllrodAllWrong, and Pitboss, who are all nipping at the heals of bronze_rules, and are only 2 points off the lead. These men all submitted perfect scores! (worship)

The next 4 gents also got the double, and have leapfrogged over 46 to 62 participants, in this amazing race. Put your hands together for IncredibleHauck, marmat, jimbo_707, and Chillax23! :applause:

There were some that figured this would be a cakewalk. They're were some that had no idea of what they signed up for. And there were some that did NOT underestimate this contest. However there is one thing that can be said, you can NEVER be truly prepared for the Green Eggs Grading Contest.

Put away your soothers, kiddies, this show is just getting started. :headbang:

Hey I got a bullseye!

Even a blind clock can find a squirrel at least once, or something like that!

And wow - a good piece of the front cover on Unseen was gone and it still scored 5.5. Stuff like this is what makes this interesting and frustrating at the same time.

Onward!

I have no chance here. I know that, anyway.

I'm an OCD condition freak who gets alarmed at the tiniest of defects, which is reflected in being the most extreme undergrader here.

As other boardies have said about themselves, I too tend to overanalyse. Classic case with the Fantastic issue - it's clearly on the point of disintegrating, brittle pages, detached cover, so I'd initially have gone with a 1.0.

Then, I go into, 'No, hm that's just what they'll be expecting me to do....' mode, suspecting a trick, that it's been given a higher gift grade and, with a nice-looking cover, I thought it could be a gift 2.0. I didn't notice that the cover was completely split.

I tend to be 1/2 to 1 point low, like clock work. But also get some bullseyes along the way.
