Good luck Johnny. Cash talks for the high grade copies.

Money isn't the problem - finding a high grade for sale is the problem...none in the HA archives, one census at 8.5 only a handful graded other than that.

None on Clink or any other major auction site for a long time now.

Starting to think they aren't out there.

There are a couple out there. Probably just a couple. Gotta be based on average. Keep hunting.

I agree, you would just think they would have been slabbed...right?

I will keep hunting until I get it no doubt about.

Congrats on #2! An art dealer used to have the original art to that cover on display at several Cons before it sold. Wonderfully atmospheric work by Ingels.

Well you were right about addicting...

my 2nd GA Pre-Code and it's my 1st REAL EC!!! :)

I love that Strange Tales 28. That's a book I would love to add to my collection some day.

I strongly disagree - I'd wager that some of the best copies out there - of ANY book - have been cloistered away in private collections since before the CGC existed. Not all books change hands every 2 or 3 years. I've had most of the books in my collection for over 10 years, some for more like 30. Nothing that I bought before 2000 is slabbed.

Interesting thanks for the input.

For GA books, slabbing is the story for only a minority of copies.

Whether purchased yesterday or 20 years ago, I only slab raw books that might be for sale (and there are very few of those).

I am realling enjoying collecting ga horror. If anyone could help me find some more vf copies of books I want that would be much appreciated.

Comicconnect had two copies of this issue on their auction but might of ended today, not sure.

Agree here. All my PCH books are 'raw'. And I know lots of other PCH collectors have a lot of raw books. Still, in all my 25 yrs of collecting PCH, there are a lot of books that are real hard above VG-F.
