Ok, figured out how to get the image in the body. Thanks for your help. That Startling Terror came back a 6.5 from CGC. Here's another one. Can you post more than one image in one post?

Very nice books. I'm glad you didn't give in to the dealer. thumbsup2.gif That JiM is to die for. hail.gif

Yes, you can post more than one book / scan in a post. All you have to do when you edit to paste the link in the post is to repeat the process by uploading the next scan as the attachment.

Honestly, I can tell from the guide and from online sales how much $$ books should go for but I don't really know which books are truly sought after, you know what I mean? Since I don't know a whole lot about grading, it's kind of like Christmas when I get each batch back from CGC (actually just tried PGX for the first time). Anyhow, these are the books that I've had slabbed so far. I pretty just went by book value in picking the ones to get slabbed. And I threw in a couple randoms to test the dealer's grading. Let me know if you care to see any of the scans. Here's one of the ones I always thought looked cool.

That list would match the want list of any collector of 50s comics who's looking for horror and science fiction comics. They should all be very sellable should you desire to do so -- you're probably already getting offers from board members. stooges.gif

I like the comics from this era and think you've got a very cool collection to enjoy!

The JiM 1 got a 6.0. Here's the Forbidden Worlds. I can't seem to scan slabbed books. Is it my 7 year old scanner or me?

By the way, I've got Venus 18, Thing 13, and Flying Saucers 1 out to CGC currently. Christmas in June!

CGC 5.5

Since I can't get scanner to get a good shot this is a digital camera from an angle to avoid flash. Sorry it can't be a better shot.

Nice books. There is a grading forum here, so you might want to post a couple in there. The opinions you will get are very good and (unlike that dealer) totally free of bias.

Or he could go with the grades from cgc. poke2.gif

Some scanners don't support the focal length needed for slabs. The slabbed comic is suspended above the glass plate and not all scanners work well for that. You can do a search in the general forum for scanner recommendation threads should you decide at some point to purchase a new one.

The picture, btw, looks really nice -- your comics seem to have been read and enjoyed but still well-cared for.

He's slabbed 30 of them which should be enough to get a sense of the difference between what the dealer graded them vs what the grades are. poke2.gif

Don't mind us -- this is normal banter on the forum. October's a good guy and if you do want to find out grades on books that you haven't slabbed then posting them in the grading forum is an excellent idea.

I think I've got like 35 graded with another 4 on their way. Those graded are definitely the cream of the crop but the other 150 or so books are pretty cool too. Bout time for bed here, but maybe I'll dig through the stack and post one more book that I like.
