That's a good one but I prefer JIM #16. Reasons?

Similar to your vampire on UW #27 but more demonic looking (horn, tail).

Transformation cover.

Nice cemetery background with two shocked people.

Clock showing Midnight. (thumbs u

The cloven hoof just seals the deal! :cloud9:

Nice copy, Jayman! (thumbs u

Eerie! I had originally pulled the JIM 16 and replaced it with the JIUW 27 at the very last moment. It's reassuring to know that we're all on the same page about what puts a vampire cover at or near the top of its class. Thanks, guys.

Sadly not my copy. :sorry:

I'm still hoping to get a nice copy of this book.

BTW this is my pick for best ATLAS vampire cover. There might be some contenders from the other publishers...I'll have to check!

It's the same artist, Harry Anderson, on both covers so what's not to like?

Those are both great covers but I probably prefer Men's Adventure 22 -- a Bill Everett cover dripping with Atlas green. :cloud9:

A couple other strong covers are Vault of Horror 40 and Journey Into Fear 13, which must be seen in the right copy to be understood.

I have a copy of JIM 16 and yeah it is pretty good stuff. Have always liked the 27 though I don't own one...yet...maybe because I always like the ones I don't have.? I will compare the two one day and maybe change my mind.

One of my favorite pre-code vampire covers.

Reasons include:

Ditko :applause:

Cover art conveys mayhem with vicious attacks

Great use of colors

Main vampire looks totally demonic

Ditko (worship)

Never noticed how gruesome and violent that cover is. Sweet.
