Great cover! Hadn't seen this one before. For Xmas I got a bunch of old horror flicks on DVD and this cover reminds me of "White Zombie" starring Bela Lagosi. thumbsup2.gif

The thing is, "Dead who Walk" I think is dated March '52, while this WOM is dated May '52. Both feature dead walking in a line, although in different manners. The WOM certainly has a Lugosi "White Zombie" vibe to it. I wonder if Ace was influenced on this one, or mere coincindence. 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

Yep read them. In fact one story involving a skeleton of a "Devil" that if pure rainwater gets on it flesh begins to grow and regenerate. It is damn near identical to the 1970's "Hammeresque" movie The Creeping Flesh. Here is the plot of that one...

Plot Summary for Plot Summary for

The Creeping Flesh (1973)

A Victorian-age scientist returns to London with his paleontological bag-of-bones discovery from Papua New Guinea. Unfortunately, when exposed to water, flesh returns to the bones unleashing a malevolent being on the scientist's family and friends.

It has Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee in it and wasnt a bad flick. The movie even pinched the punchline from the comic story 27_laughing.gif too funny.

Recent EC eBay purchase. I wish the colors were better and brighter, but this copy will do until I upgrade.

Classic, classic cover.

Classic "Bad Teeth" cover! poke2.gif

To me thats the ALL-TIME best horror cover of any age. I love my Northford Copy of that book. Is that the Fine copy that was up opn ebay that I sent you the note about ?

No, I missed out on that one (or was it in a store, can't remember). 893censored-thumb.gif

This one is only in the high VG range, but it was a mere $50 so I don't care.

It would be interesting to know when the first official "Bigfoot" reports (barring traditional Sasquatch folklore, etc.) came out of the Pacific NW and if this cover (#15, btw) pre-dates those, or was possibly influenced by them. 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

Oooogggg!

100% swipes and the "artist" didn't bother to rescale, perhaps? The babe doesn't seem very concerned about the giant werewolf. Anyone recognize the sources?

Jack

Giant werewolf? Look at the size of him! Talk about a bad cover! foreheadslap.gif
