Comic Hunter Moncton Break In

7 posts in this topic

I just found out that Comic Hunter in Moncton, NB was broken into overnight. The lone burglar made off with $15,000 worth of magic cards, including a Black Lotus. Comic Hunter is one of the premier comic stores in Atlantic Canada and is currently up for the Joe Shuster Award's Harry Kremer Award for Retailers.

The manager, Remi, is a fantastic guy and a friend of mine. These guys do a lot for the community and it is always a pleasure to enter the shop when I am in New Brunswick. I hope they find the culprit quickly. It sickens me that it seems like every other week I am reading about a comic shop being broken into. What is wrong with people?

Yeah. I don't get why people resort to this sort of thing. It's hard to believe how brazen this thief was: the shop is located across the street from the police station!

That sucks, hope they catch the guy and get the cards back.

I had no idea what the Black Lotus was and when I googled it and saw how much it was worth my first thought was, "that's nuts that a piece of cardboard could be worth so much money!"

Then I went and crouched Smeagol-like over my hoard of comics... :tonofbricks:

Its my LCS that this happened to, still no news yet. A few people that "think" they know who it is but probably just jumping to conclusions. They knew exactly what they where going for because they didn't touch any of the wall books (there was a CGC 9.6 Walking Dead #1 on the wall 1 foot behind him).

A lot of support from customers/community as people have been giving extra money when they buy stuff or another local business (barber & tattoo shop) is having a walk in day today and any money from that goes to the shop
