Wonder Comics # 1

CGC census shows 9 Universal, 5 Restored, and 1 Qualified. If memory serves, I read a claim that the 9.4 and 9.2 in the census are the same book in different holders. In any case, several boardies have a copy of this book, here's mine:

Great to see it again after 30 years.

Gorgeous copy with a beautiful spine! :applause:

I don't recall ever seeing any art from the inside of this book. Does anyone have pictures?

While I don't have a copy of the book, I do have a back cover to a

Wonder Comics 1…I would like to find a coverless copy or a front cover!

So if anyone reading this has a cover lying around or a coverless copy put away

for safekeeping, contact me and help me put this Wonder Comics 1 together.

Wow ! Talk about giving the HA copy a run for its money.

Thanks Peter - there's a 1/4" top spine split and a small bindery chip on the back cover, so the HA copy is technically better.

Wonder Comics 1 is such a beautiful and historically significant book. :cloud9:

When I owned this book in the mid-late 90s, the split was only to the staple.

The fact that it has continued to spread so far is a bit worrisome.

I own the book. The split is only to the bottom staple.

From the top of the book or is this only an one-staple book? lol

Seriously though, have you ever asked CGC why they denoted it as a 4" spine split when it is supposedly much smaller than that? hm

The CGC 9.4 in the upcoming Heritage auction is gorgeous.

Looks like the owner is trying to cash out on the book after picking it up for almost $70K back in 2014.

Although Fox books have definitely been on fire recently, not sure how much of a win (if any at all), this will be for the consignor once the HA fees are factored in. hm
