As you can see the hologram is all shattered like a mirror.

I like the three claw marks. As if the hologram was made of adamantium, so Wolverine could only scratch it rather than slice it.

To answer the original question... yes, I've seen damaged holograms for that and other books with the hologram which came out that month. Some not as severe as that however.

How wise is it to put something made with metal in a microwave?

If you try it, please don't just photograph, but take video of the procedure and results...

Yea I won't be trying this.....I thought it over and couldn't the paper catch on fire besides the staples causing a short of the microwave? I just wonder if this happened due to the heat that was used to apply the hologram to the comic when it was being printed for shipping?

I went to a local comic convention this weekend and found one. The seller said he never noticed the cracked hologram and he had another copy that wasn't cracked but he said they probably weren't from the same collection.

 

My guess is that it is heat, possibly sunlight and heat, since the whole front cover is a little faded.

I could venture that would be UV damage.

 

UV is bad for all types of plastic, and if it was a wall book for many years....

All good points. I was hoping it was a legit off the press error not because I want to sell it, I don't, but just because I collect a lot of the 90 chrome/hologram errors. Thanks for all the input guys
