Does CGCing comics with RIght hand front cover overhang damage the comic?

What makes you think it was a right hand front cover overhang? Seems more likely the top of the book was the problem.

I'm not sure I follow. It looks like the right front cover under-hangs the page edges to me.

Overhang looks like it's along the top. If in fact there is even an overhang.

I'm really not sure. That auction is from 8 years ago, and the CGC slab has changed.
