I'm missing something guys, I'm usually the strict one, what are you guys seeing to bring it that low?

you have what apppear to be a few cutter tears on the top edge. quite a few spine stress lines. a bit of color loss in the green logo box and on the top spine corner.

I was at an 8.0 maybe even an 8.5 (Assuming the spine stress wasn't as visible in hand), but I can't really see the color loss on the logo from my laptop. But yes with the color loss and if those are tiny tears on the top edge I'd agree with 7.0/7.5.

Yeah, I could totally see 7.5. Really nice book, and if very nice in hand, a superior feel and overall eye appeal might even allow 8.0, it depends.

The top staple looks impacted so there's probably a good amount of tearing around it. This is typically an issue caused by improper pressing and I've heard (unofficially on the boards) cgc is cracking down on this type of defect.

Spine ticks, upr lft corner is a little weak, upper staple looks slightly pulled.

 

Nice book, better than my copy.

Nice high grade copy I'm at 8.5, I've seen impact staples on CGC 9.6 books so they likely won't deduct for that. Don't really see much for tanning, some dirt could easily be removed from back cover.

I'm usually strict as well, but I'm seeing like an 8.0/8.5 myself.

 

In hand I'd probably change my mind though as the scans are a bit low res.

Me as well. I am usually very strict, but am seeing a 8.5/9.0 all day. I do see the faint vertical crease on the spine, but the rest of the book is so tight I can't see the 7.0 everyone is agreeing upon.
