BA Batman!

496 posts in this topic

A few more recent BA Batman and Detective books. Batman is awesome and

it's so hard to stay focused with so many great books out there.

Love this cover and now have three copies and would love to buy Lord Rahl's

CGC 9.6 listed right now if I had the scratch. :P

Wow. I wonder why this thread took so long to be used again.

I think that the Adams cover thread and, more recently, the Batman #227 thread have become the defacto Adams Batman threads. lol

Nice to see this one starting up again. :applause:

Fazybones,

Excellent run of Batman comics. (thumbs u

A few of my 100 page Detective comics. I like the way Batman is pictured in the circle just above "Detective Comics", not too mention the "extra's" pictured along the bottom front of the books.

This might be my favorite cover of the Dc 100 page Detective comics.

Awesome books! :cloud9:

The Batman and Detective runs during those early BA years are incredible.

It's hard to beat those 100 pagers of both series. :luhv:

Absolutely agree.

I guess I really don't pay as much attention to my raw books as my slabbed ones. Shame on me.

Yes, shame on you Brian. (tsk)

Thanks for sharing an incredible group shot of some fantastic books and

I wish I owned many of those. It's so hard to pick up too many of these

when it's my third collecting focus.

hm I think when I have some books paid off I'm moving these up a notch

on my focus. So many awesome books in these runs and I'm starting to

like many of the Brave and the Bold books.

Note: this 8.0 is actually superb. Why it's not a 9.4, I'm not sure

Nice run.

However, I have never been a big fan of his B&B books for whatever reason. The covers just do not appeal to me as much as the Batman or Tec runs. (shrug)

I think that's true compared to Batman and Detective runs, but those B&B's

are growing on me.

That's quite a run of books Brian. :cloud9: I just checked and I only have seven

issues so far and of course none are slabbed. I love that # 81 and really want

an 84 with Sgt Rock. :luhv:

My only decent 100 pager of those runs and I love this cover.

Wow B and B #93.... Batman visits the House of Mystery in "Red Water, Crimson Death." -script by Denny O'Neil, art and cover by Neal Adams.

Just bought a reader off Ebay.... Will be my first House of Mystery comic since I was nine or ten years old... 35 years ago, but who's counting...

Can't wait!!

How's the story? My copy is entombed in plastic in my basement never to see the light of day or know the touch of a human.

Interesting. There were some decent deals on the Adams Batmans in tonight's Clink auction. I thrill bid on two with a minute or so left and landed both:

Batman #232 CGC 8.5 W (OO copy but likely pancaked first)

Batman #251 CGC 9.4 OW/W (OO copy but likely pancaked first)

Not bad.

I scored Batman #248 9.6 White.

Also picked up the following.

Detective 398 9.2 White Rocky Mountain Copy

Detective 402 9.2 White Rocky Mountain Copy (ugly and expensive )
