This is another grail for me. My father is a huge Vallejo fan. As far back as the 1980's there were Vallejo calendars, prints, and art books in our home. I have very vivid memories of this particular piece. It was the cover of Boris and Doris Vallejo's 1984 book entitled "Enchantment". Stories by Doris with illustrations by Boris.

Its funny how that one for 13k was a really bad investment when this one for 3k at more or less the same time (ok a couple years before) would have been a good investment.

Just goes to show how much subject matter has come to influence price.

The first I'd take, the second I would not. Is there context I'm missing or did the market just pay up for his recent style and more stiffly posed (dropped) in figuration?
