It's funny. You seem to obsess over my threads. I couldn't name two threads you've started. I'm sure you must have started some but I simply don't care.   If you want to think that all I think about is money, I'd say you are mistaken, but that would be oxy-moronic.  I start threads that I hope have some interest to folks here and as most of them have legs, I guess I do. If you don't like them, please ignore them. Simple solutions for simple minds.

A random sampling showed the vast majority of those threads got multiple responses, stretching into several pages worth of discussions.

I thank you for proving my concept- I start threads that people are interested in.

You'll have to excuse me now. It's almost 11AM and time to get out of bed.  Double points day at my favorite casino.

BTw- I didn't insult you. I simply stated I stopped reading the thread when you started posting stuff about some friend buying a brazzillion books and not being able to sell a single one.  I knew then that pages of drivel would follow.

You insult people so much you are actually oblivious to when you do it.  People insult others so they don't have to face their own shortcomings, of which you have several.  I posted the grub threads not because it would make you see the light-that will never happen.  Merely to expose you to others.  You are a money grubber.

noun, Informal.

1.
a person who is aggressively engaged in or preoccupied with making or saving money

You say that as if it is a bad thing. I like making money. In fact I love making money. The more money I make, the more I can give away.
If you look at my ebay store, you'll see every item not on consignment, a portion goes to  St Judes for non-comic items or Heroes Initiative for  comic items,
and I've repeatedly said that for years I adhere to the Harry Chapin Principal.  Do one night( of gambling) for me, one for the others.
But carry on. It's all you have. Enjoy.

Anyone can justify their actions.  In fact everyone does.  I'm sure you think you're a great guy.  That goes without saying.  As far as carry on it's all I have may I remind you that you brought me up first.  I'm all you have.  Carry on.  Enjoy.

I forgot to add, I have a moderate statue collection that I plan to liquidate as well but figured that I would do better selling them off individually, likely on these boards, unless there is a fairly quick way to move them as well.

How about some of that sweet, sweet OA?  :wishluck:

Sure if they are books people are willing to pay $1-$3 or $5 for you're set.  If they are standard 80s and 90s drek, they don't sell for a nickel.

So untrue. If your buddy bought 120 longs for $250, which is dirt cheap. With little effort you can sell them for $10 a box and make your money back. Easily quadruple your money just by selling them by the box in a G-sale. If it's super-hero stuff - it will go.  And, if you want to put more effort in you can make more money

Most eighties books are over 30 years old now, bronze was poo poo'd on until it wasn't, to a smaller extent - the same will happen to 80's

Pretty sure my local shop will pay $20-$30 a long box depending on what's in there if you are bringing it to him.  Thing is, he probably wouldn't take 50 boxes at once.  He would be selling them for the next 10 years and doesn't have the space.  It looks like he buys 1 - 5 at a time, max.  He tosses the drek out there, sometimes with non-drek he misses, makes them $1 each, less if you buy a few, etc.  Not sure how much he sells...probably a long box every 2 weeks.

If 80s books are genuinely NM or better there is now a market it seems for most of it.  90s stuff is a bit more hit or miss as there are so many books you hit 50 of in a box.. the numbers are overwhelming.
