You can also find endless lots of these type books on ebay for 50 cents a book and WHY aren't my detractors snapping them up?  At $5 a book they could make a huge income buying these lots on ebay and selling em.  The don't because THEY KNOW DAMN WELL THESE BOOKS ARE WORTHLESS.

Because shipping costs are a thing and that listing is certainly not 150 long boxes for $500 or the OP's collection of 80-90 boxes that he's willing to sell to Chuck (AKA super cheap).

For huge collections like this, you basically have to buy locally and be able to sell locally to make it work. Space is also an issue that you have to deal with, whether you already have it or not.

Your misinterpretation/twisting of words saying they would sell easily at $5 per book is also a huge load of steaming :censored: and you know it. comicwiz's Batman experience is ridiculous and certainly not typical (but it's still Batman and not random garbage).

This post made me look up container and pallet freight costs across the atlantic. You call it drek, but for me it's still hard to get pieces for the collection. I'm apparently a collector living on the wrong continent. *keeps on dreaming about affordable drek*

Hopefully the OP is still reading these messages to see Pitboss' reply.  Huge garage sales work---you just need to put in the effort, be very organized and just be a little clever to market it properly.  Those books will all be gone and you'll have the cash as well as all of the newly freed up space.

Yeah, I agree with the slower approach. OP said FINALLY able to sell, so he has been sitting and accumulating for a while now. What's the hurry? I understand the volume is overwhelming. Just organize intelligently (I do one box at a time and then merge every few boxes as I go along). I bought 2 collections in the last 18 months or so and while a few longboxes of pure drek have accumulated most of the comics are gone (3500 or so) and it has been tremendously profitable $wise. But a bit of work. Now I don't mind as I do it to have something fun to do and stay out of trouble, but it is time consuming.

Again, if there is no hurry relax and enjoy it...that is why you bought in the first place, right?

I stopped reading after mag started replying, but Mycomicshop has recently changed their buying system. It's fully explained on their site, but they are paying $30 a box for absolute Derek and picking up shipping. That's the minimum price.  Worth checking out.

Someone who every thread they start is about money, getting money, saving money, grubbing money, has no business criticising anyone.

Ps how's that sure-fire casino system you bragged about going?  Don't hear you talk about it much any more.

Id imagine they will beat Mile High, but certainly shop around.

I'd imagine that shipping 90 longboxes would be more expensive than the .10 cents a book you would receive,no?

It's unbelievable-I don't like him either but I leave him alone.  He feels the needs to post negative zingers about people out of the blue.  He's like the grumpy old rude guy at the coffeeshop that people wish would just go away.

I guess you didn't bother to read the part where they supply you with prepaid shipping labels.  Why aren't I surprised.

Not sure why you think they'd pay ten cents a book for everything, but why bother looking when you already know the answers.

I bought 70 packed long boxes of books (80% 90s books and 20% 80s) at the beginning of last year and I've done pretty well with my $1,500 investment.  Boxes were picked pretty hard but books like black and White Spawn 1 and Batman Adventure Annual 1 are not on everyone's radar.  I sorted a long box of the best stuff and made back more then my $1,500 just in selling the best books.  Sold another 6 long boxes on here at $1 a piece and sold another 10 long boxes at Cons in the $1 boxes.  Sold 15 long boxes to Carbo for $20/long at the Cleveland Wizard show since I bought another collection and ran out of room in the van.  Donated 14 long boxes of the worst stuff to my local library last year and donated another 14 long boxes of books to another local library last month.  I'm left with 10 long boxes of ok stuff which I'm happy to sell off slowly and wait for hot books to pop up now and then.  This collection was so picked over it was scary but even then there is always books that fall thru the cracks.

As to the original question - I'd grab out the best stuff and then blow out the rest for $25/long to either local dealers or possibly someone from the boards who will drive over.  I ended up driving 3 hours to go get my collection so you would be surprised how far people will come to get a big collection like yours.
