That's the problem. As long as there's inconsistency, it will continue to be hard to police. Same thing happens in schools. If all teachers consistently enforce behavior, and administrators consistently support that enforcement, then you will reduce instances of misbehavior. But if a few teachers don't toe the line or administrators deal out consequences unevenly, problems will persist. Some sellers invite random posting. GLWTS comments and convenient bumps-from-friends seem tolerated. Banter continues in long sales threads. It seems there's a thin line between what's acceptable and what's not, and it doesn't seem to be applied consistently.

When Arch created the marketplace he made it quite clear that we would be on our own to police it, and clearly stated that he had no intention of moderating that section.

GLWTS comments and convenient bumps-from-friends seem tolerated. Banter continues in long sales threads. It seems there's a thin line between what's acceptable and what's not, and it doesn't seem to be applied consistently.

 

The GLWTS comment that is out of line is when someone adds a statement right before it like "That price would be an all-time high. GLWTS."

 

That has not been new members doing this.
