rantrant

What is the deal on someone starting a sales thread...getting no takers....waiting a day...closing it..starting a "new" sales thread...repeat....repeat.

:makepoint:

At what point is it suggested... :hi: eBay is calling for those books kind sir.

Though I don't think this is the one you are talking about someone decided to point out something similar to your rant

I held back. I was going to jump in with a m1703.gif these look familiar... I know! From the last 10 sales thread you had them in over the last 3 months.

Believe me, I'm no  - my first multiple item sales thread had to be locked because it had 30 pages of bumps  but it was one a day. Just in case someone new saw and that way anyone not interested wouldn't have to waste their time. (shrug)

Someone has a nice strategy for lowballers...

offer books at TWICE GPA (and its a raw at that!) and when someone comes in and offers 50% of what you're asking...

you come out a winner!

link please

Got it. I was just looking at that and thought there was no way that book was worth that much raw.

^^

If it went from it's advertised 4.0/4.5 ($400 GPA for a SLABBED copy) up to a full 6.0 it would be worth the asking price... again IF it was slabbed.

I never understood the logic.

Raw book in a grade worth $400 but with a press it might be worth $800

so let me ask $800... what buyer in their right mind would take that risk?

If it's worth the effort of pressing why doesnt the initial seller press it? If they want the $800 value they should be the one to get it to that condition!

but again, as I say.. sellers get to ask whatever they want for a book.

as long as they are cool with having no chance in hades of making a sale.

I saw this...

But is anyone buying at 50% off? Do I have the wrong thread? (shrug)

^^

he's asking double what GPA says a slabbed 4.0/4.5 is worth.

Im guessing his logic is a press could magically up it to a 6.0 which GPA has at ~$800, so he's asking $800.

At least his other books are priced fairly which makes me wonder whether or not he want to sell the book since its priced so high. Kind of like the other thread where the seller was taking in offers for a book and wouldn't sell until the bids reached his minimum sell price. The BIN price was at least 5X more than the value of the book. :insane:
