El Rey Comics
Fantastic Four #48 regrade: pressing worth it? I just received this fantastic four #48 with a 4.0 cgc grade. Here are the grader notes: white pages crease right center of front cover breaks color crease right top of front cover breaks color finger bends cover multiple bend spine breaks color multiple crease back cover multiple crease left bottom of front cover breaks color multiple tape stain spine so my question is would a press and dry clean help some of the obvious creases and bends (and possible tape stains) enough to justify sending this in? If so what do you think a grade bump would be? thank you in advance.
crazyhips
I think it got hammered for the tape stains, and I'm not sure the grade would improve if those stains cannot be removed.
El Rey Comics
so do you think a quick dry cleaning will take enough off to make a difference?
joeypost
Dry cleaning does not remove certain stains. The ones from the tape are through and through, so no amount of dry cleaning will get those out. The book does have some pressable defects I can see from the scans, but is the .5 grade difference (if you get it) worth the extra cost involved? Probably not. yogi_bear13
Tony S
No. The book is not a good pressing candidate.

PhilipB2k17
Unless you are going to bump it up into the 7 range, then no. It's not worth the cost. At most you'll go up half a grade, frankly. Your creases are color breaking ones.
