Bogus "Neal Adams"

14 posts in this topic

You really think a guy that's been on E-bay for three and a half years and has 314 positive transactions to 1 neg would throw it all away on some Neal Adams print? If it's not legit I'm willing to bet that the seller has no idea it isn't.

I've seen the Spectre image & the others are all Adams work. I don't think Adams had anything to do with the product as it looks kind'a low budget, like someone did some paste-up work & then colored the image & made some prints out of it. The sig is also off a bit, on the close-up looks like it was pencilled in first & then traced over with a marker.

The print is LEGIT if it is part of the original print run done around 1977. There was an unsigned edition. Not sure if there were legit signed copies or just fake signatures. Can't tell from the pic if it is a more recent color laser copy of a late 70s print.

It looks too consisent for that. It looks much more like a printing plate shift causing the doubled signature.

Not part of a portfolio. These were sold via Steranko's Supergraphics Co. Mediascene tabloid 1978. Full color poster 16 x 24 inch size. Original retail (unsigned) $3 plus 50 cents postage. No mention of a handsigned edition although if u bought it from N Adams directly (at a comicon), he would autograph it.

May possibly have a facsimile signature reproduced on the print.
