WTF happened to your auctions!!!... sumo.gif

I had this 3rd party seller pull them and I relisted them myself under my own Ebay account. I wanted to provide large scans and better descriptions. I think to make the most amount of money, the 3rd party seller just uses 1 small picture.

So...why did you bid on them???... 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

Because I wanted to make sure and be high bidder on the only couple auctions that had been bid on at that time, rather than just pull it out from under a high bidder. I didn't want the high bidder contacting planbauctions complaining about cancelling the auction.

I wasn't trying to pull a fast one, but I took the advice of a previous board member who said everyone would assume the comics were fine condition by the way they were listed. They are nicer than that and I didn't people assuming they were in lower condition than they are.

nobody bids on comic auctions that they are going to cancel....I say lier lier pants on fire. I really could care less why they were cancelled but at least come up with a better reason then that. My 4 year old lies better then that. I wish you luck on them but dude that is a really really bad reason why you bid on them.

"Fine" would have been closer to the actual condition of the books I looked at. 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

I just realized something. You people are mean. 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

Generally, people learn right from wrong at a very early age. We can forgive you for overgrading your books, and for sheer stupidity, but we cannot forgive you for lying, cheating, and bidding on your own books. sumo.gif

So according to my info that people grade differently and that is why a large scan is provided. You used the scan and determined you would grade differently yes? And is the opening bid higher or lower than the value in fine condition for that particular book?

Having said that is there anything shady going on?

Yes.

Buy a grading guide and grade according to the standards defined therein. Certainly people "grade differently," but there's a difference between me and another experience grader having a .5 difference of opinion on a book and someone throwing up FNs and VGs as "NM" and hiding behind the veil of "people grade differently." The former is a healthy example of the differences between individual graders, the latter is either incompetence (as in you can't grade at all) or intentional deception. If you're that bad a grader, don't put a grade on the books at all.

Sometimes the truth is hard to swallow for some...in this case though I'd call it intentional deception. He lost all "benefit of a doubt" cards when he got caught shilling his own auctions...

Speaking of his auctions, I checked the link (for planbauctions) at the top of this thread to see what his grading was like (with the new, improved scans) and found none.

Shurely shome mishtake??

Where the hell did Sean Connery come from? 893whatthe.gif

Not a Connery impression, although I can see where you got that idea. It's a catchphrase denoting drunken editorial error, from my favorite satirical magazine, Private Eye.

Better and more insightful than all British newspapers combined, don't you know!
