I guess I’m the odd ball, don’t mine these at all. I’ve had my share of tape issues: sticking to comics, ripping the bag when pulling the tape, ripping the tape trying to open the bag, etc. 

Haven’t had too many problems with the self sealing bags though. Lucky me. If anything, these are probably easier to use when going to cons hunting down signatures.

Anything sticky just isn’t safe around our books.

I use no tape at all.  Just neatly tuck the flaps in.
