Credit card protection vs. comic theft: success 0

Kudos to American Express for honoring 2 claims I had to file, one going back 2 years. 

Turns out I purchased 2 comics off eBay that had been stolen merchandise (from a fellow board member no less). Thankfully I used Amex through PayPal, and was able to recover my funds with minimal hassle. Lessons learned:

1. Always use credit cards through paypal, not personal funds.
2. Always make sure to register your CGC comics immediately upon purchase, to make sure there are no issues. (this is how I found out they were stolen)
3. Never buy expensive items from people with less than 20 transactions?

Excellent advice , i am going to make sure my pay-pal account is linked to my credit card , not my bank

What were the books?  Did the original owner/Boardie get them back? 

We need more info.

Action 32 and 53. The boardie should get them back (they are currently with the police as evidence), but I cannot speak for the other books that were stolen, of which I believe there were many.
