Well I am going to try and help you. If your question had been mid 1961-January 1971 I would have known the Marvel stuff, but I'll take a shot at it.

I also list what didn't have an issue to scratch things off which may help you finalize the list.

Zonker,

There was a Marvel cover gallery but it stopped at January 1971. I think it was made by a guy named Nick (forgot the last name). I think it changed ISP addresses so I don't know if it's the one you are refrencing.

It was purely Marvel and Silver. Which is why it stopped.

Glad it helped Heartened. I sure hope all the titles I listed are correct.

I got my starting point from that old Nick Simon website. Then counted up and also consulted my own runs which is where I discovered that many titles weren't active in October.

I had lifted most of that old website to my harddrive in the hopes of one day adding DC Disney, and Archie to it. (not to mention the fact that that website may not be there one day when I needed to consult it.

I wanted to get a visual of what a newstand might look like with numerous choices.

But as you can imagine that would be a huge undertaking.

I've never tried to collect the titles fom 1970 (my birthday). However, not to get too technical but the October date on each title was probably on the newstand in July or August as the publishers were always a little ahead of real time.

By the way the Action # 405 scan I lifted from Ebay and wanted it for my Presidents thread, is available on Ebay right now for $1.99. And there were a few others as well in various condition. Happy hunting. news.gif

Thanks again. And, yeah, I know that the cover dates are always ahead of the shipping date. That's so the comics could stay on the racks for months and still sell to suckers like us who thought they were getting the "current" issue smile.gif

Here are the books listed in the CGC census with 10/71 as their dates.

There are probably lots of others that were printed, but for whatever reason

no one has considered them "CGC worthy" so far.

I went ahead and edited the post, and added the WDCS 373 and Scrooge 95 up there as well. It would be neat to see forum member posing in front of an entire Month of their birth. I wonder how much that list above would cost in VeryGood/Fine condition. 893scratchchin-thumb.gif
