So I always wanted to start a thread here with the words ' The Official..'

(If one exists - sorry)

Please use this thread if you got any animation-related art to share. Model sheets, Sketches,  comic art of animated shows, etc..

Now to the 1st official post:

With the formalities out of the way - happy to share a couple of Animation related water color paintings.

Got these on Clink in 2 seperate auctions.

Guessing they came from the same source - but no way to know. Btw - if anyone knows the history of these paintings would love to know. My guess is that they were done either as gifts or as art for a charity event.

Tomm Moore is the Head of the Irish animation studio Cartoon Saloon that did both Secret of the Kells and Song of the Sea.  Beautiful hand drawn films.

Love my few Batman Animated drawings! I think I prefer them to the painted cels, in some ways.

The cells are hand colored prints. These are actual drawings. Thats why they are so good.

I'll add something to the thread then.

I moved to Canada when I was five.   Prior to that I was in Italy and remember watching and loving Shogun Warriors a ton.

I was happy later to be able to get the art for one of the very first anime home releases in the west.    It was called Starbirds (about Daimos from Shogun Warriors).

I've always loved the painting for this Thundercats home release as well.    Both paintings are circa 1985.
