Master of the World is based on a story by Jules Verne the father of science fiction and is part of the Robur the great series, actually it is very similar to 20,000 leagues in that the main protagonist tries to force his will on the World's Government's for them to disarm much like Captain Nemo. This would be the second movie Vincent Price acted along side Charles Bronson the first was in the House of wax, then Bronson used his real name Buchinsky. Karloff was never happy with this scene and was pleased to see it censored as he felt that it removed any sympathy for the monster and would also shock the viewing audience. There was another cut scene that was restored involving Henry Frankenstein (Colin Clive) shouting to the Heavens: "It's alive! It's alive! In the name of God! Now I know what it feels to be God!" I never warmed to Nick Adams as a lead as it was hard to tell him from the sets (wooden). 1950's war comics and FoggyNelson

Here is an adaptation of Masque of the Red Death - Poe's take on the social effects of the Black Death. Cushing Fan
Here is another great Dell horror - an adaptation of Creature from the Black Lagoon (my favorite of the Universal monsters). This is the first printing, it proved to be a very popular issue and a second printing was also made.
