I thought 9.6 was the highest you could get with some very noticable production problems.

the bloody GER on "Harbinger", and the bloody spots

all along the right edge for about an inch inward.

 

Not the nanometer of Page 1 showing through.

The only way that book is a 9.8:

 

1. Valiant books are exempt from CGC's 9.6 cut-off for production defects.

 

2. The damage to the URC is the result of SCS.

 

3. The damage to the LRC is the result of SCS.

 

 

The spine break on the back cover single-handedly knocks this modern into 9.8.

That's what got me.

 

I was 9.4/9.6 and asked about the foxing knowing that 9.4 was the foxing cut-off point.

 

He told me it was production defects so I figured 9.6.
